The Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) is a great help for poor families in Pakistan. It gives financial support to those who need it the most. The government started this program to reduce poverty and make life easier for low-income families. But even with all the good work, many people still face problems with BISP 8171 payments, registration, and verification.

This article is made for you — the people. If you are facing any issue with BISP 8171, please share your problem in the comment section below. Your feedback will help us raise your voice and guide you toward a solution.

What is BISP 8171?

The BISP 8171 program is run by the Government of Pakistan. It provides cash to poor families every few months. Families can check their eligibility and payment details by sending their CNIC number to 8171. If they are registered and eligible, they receive payments through banks or cash centers.

The program’s goal is to help people buy food, medicine, and basic household items. It also includes Benazir Taleemi Wazaif for children’s education.

Common Issues People Face in BISP 8171 Payments

Even though BISP helps millions, many people face problems when trying to get their payments. Below are some of the most common issues shared by beneficiaries:

1. Biometric Fingerprint Problems

Many people face fingerprint issues at payment centers or ATMs. The biometric machine sometimes cannot verify the thumb due to hard work marks, age, or machine error. This causes payment delays.

Example problem:
“My fingerprints do not match at the BISP payment shop, and the agent refuses to give me cash.”

2. Payment Not Showing or Delayed

Sometimes payments are not updated in the system even though the person is eligible. Beneficiaries visit payment centers many times but still don’t get the money.

Example problem:
“When I check on 8171, it shows I am eligible, but I did not receive any payment this month.”

3. Incorrect Information in Record

If your CNIC, address, or family information is wrong in the NSER record, your payment might stop. Many people are unaware of how to correct these mistakes.

Example problem:
“My husband passed away, but my record still shows him alive, and my BISP payment is stopped.”

4. Messages Not Received from 8171

Some people do not get official SMS alerts from 8171, even when they are eligible. This creates confusion about whether they are approved or not.

Example problem:
“I applied months ago but never received a confirmation message from 8171.”

5. BISP Card or Bank Account Not Working

Some beneficiaries’ cards are blocked, or they face errors while using ATMs or mobile banking apps. Sometimes, partner banks have system problems that delay withdrawals.

Example problem:
“My BISP ATM card says ‘transaction failed’ every time I try to withdraw.”

6. Long Queues at Payment Centers

In many rural areas, people wait in long lines for hours to collect their cash. Women, especially old or sick ones, find it very difficult to wait in the heat or rain.

Example problem:
“I went three times to the payment shop, but the crowd was too big, and I had to return without money.”

7. Agents Cutting Money

Some agents illegally deduct small amounts from the BISP payment. This is against the rules, but many people don’t know where to complain.

Example problem:
“The agent took Rs. 500 from my Rs. 13,500 payment and said it was his fee.”

8. Verification and Re-Registration Problems

People who were eligible before are now asked to re-verify their data through NSER survey. Many don’t know where or how to do it.

Example problem:
“My name was removed from the list, and I was told to update my record, but no one is helping me.”
